Facial Repositioning with Lifting Threads
Support, lift and redefine — with collagen-boosting precision
Thread lift treatments, sometimes referred to as a non-surgical facelift, are a popular option for patients seeking subtle facial contouring, jawline definition, and gentle lifting without surgery. At my doctor-led clinic in Oxford, I use only high-quality, long-lasting threads made of polylactic acid (PLLA) and polycaprolactone (PCL) — materials that not only support the skin but also stimulate natural collagen production over time. My technique focuses on volume repositioningrather than pulling, with a customised plan based on facial anatomy and your goals. Whether you’re looking to improve lower face laxity or achieve a more defined profile, a thread facelift may offer a safe, gradual alternative to more invasive procedures.
What to Expect

Treatment Time: 60–90 minutes (with planning)
Anaesthesia: Local anaesthetic
Results: Immediate + progressive
Duration: 12-24 months
Downtime: Mild swelling/bruising possible
My Approach
My priority is always to avoid an artificial or rigid appearance. I use threads not to “pull” but to gently reposition volumeand stimulate the skin’s natural support structure.
I favour ADI (anchoring deep insertion) techniques, which offer excellent lifting with a very low risk of complications.
Although the idea of placing threads in the face may seem intimidating, it’s actually a very safe procedure when planned correctly and performed with anatomical precision.
Pain is minimal: I use ample local anaesthetic, and patients generally report little to no discomfort.
How It Works
I use lifting threads made of PLLA (Polylactic Acid) and PCL (Polycaprolactone) — materials known for their long-lasting effect and superior biostimulatory properties.
Once placed beneath the skin using fine instruments, these threads provide immediate mechanical support while gradually stimulating collagen over the following months.
Although the procedure itself takes only a few minutes, the appointment lasts around 60 to 90 minutes, as I take time to carefully study your facial structure and proportions — especially when lifting is the goal.
The planning is essential to ensure a natural vector of repositioning, avoiding asymmetries or heaviness.
Support from the Inside

To optimise recovery from repositioning thread treatments, I recommend a 10‑day oral supplement protocol using SkinadeMD® INsupport™ — taken 5 days before and 5 days after your procedure. This nutraceutical programme, designed specifically for aesthetic treatments, has been shown to:
-
Reduce bruising and swelling
-
Lower inflammation and tissue reactivity
-
Support collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production
-
Promote faster return to social activities

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I look pulled or unnatural?
No — my technique focuses on repositioning, not stretching. Results are subtle, elegant, and balanced. I never aim to “freeze” the face but to restore its natural contours.
Is the procedure painful?
Not at all. I use plenty of local anaesthetic, and patients are usually surprised by how comfortable it is. You may feel pressure, but not pain.
When will I see results?
You’ll see a change immediately, especially in facial contour. The result continues to improve over 2–3 months as new collagen forms.
How long do the results last?
Between 12 and 24 months depending on the material used and your individual response.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Yes — threads work well with fillers, toxin, or bioremodelling, but I always space procedures carefully to avoid overstimulation or tissue fatigue.
Are there risks or complications?
Major complications are extremely rare when performed correctly. You may experience mild swelling, bruising, or temporary unevenness, which typically settles within a few days.
