Collagen Stimulators

Long-lasting structure, gradual rejuvenation, and natural firmness

Collagen stimulators are injectable treatments designed to gradually improve skin firmness, elasticity, and facial structureby encouraging your body’s own collagen production. At my doctor-led clinic in Oxford, I use advanced products such as Sculptra (PLLA) and Ellansé (PDLLA) to restore natural volume and support areas like the cheeks, temples, jawline, and chin. These treatments are not traditional fillers — they do not provide instant volume, but instead offer subtle, long-lasting results through a regenerative process. My approach is anatomical and tailored, focused on enhancing your features safely and progressively by stimulating deep, structural renewal of the skin.

My Approach

Collagen stimulators are not a quick fix — they require patience and planning, but the results are more stable and long-lasting than traditional fillers.

I recommend them for patients who want a deeper level of rejuvenation, especially in areas where the skin has lost structure but not necessarily volume.

They are also ideal for:

  • Slim or athletic faces with poor tissue support

  • Lower face laxity that would not benefit from filler

  • Patients seeking minimal maintenance over time

During consultation, we evaluate whether your goals would be best addressed with collagen stimulation alone or in combination with fillers or threads.

How It Works

Collagen stimulators are injected into specific areas of the face where volume loss or laxity is present. Once in the tissue, they trigger a localised response that activates fibroblasts, leading to collagen synthesis over the following weeks and months.

I use only safe, high-quality products and inject using precise techniques to ensure even distribution and a natural result. The outcome is not immediate but develops gradually — improving definition, skin tightness, and deep dermal support without overcorrection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as filler?

No — collagen stimulators do not fill the tissue directly. They stimulate your own collagen to rebuild volume and firmness over time.

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients need 2–3 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, depending on the product and the area treated.

How soon will I see results?

Results appear gradually over several weeks, as collagen rebuilds. You may notice some immediate improvement from the injection itself, but the true effect develops slowly.

How long do the results last?

Typically 18–24 months, and sometimes longer, depending on your age, lifestyle, and treatment plan.

Is there any downtime?

Mild swelling or bruising is possible, but most patients return to work and daily life immediately after treatment.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes — collagen stimulators can be combined with treatments like botulinum toxin, threads, or skin boosters as part of a comprehensive rejuvenation plan.

However, they should not be combined with other collagen-stimulating injectables or biostimulators, as excessive stimulation in the same area can increase the risk of complications such as nodules or granulomas.

I always space and plan treatments carefully to ensure safety and avoid overstimulation of the tissue.

What’s the difference between Sculptra, Ellansé and dermal fillers?

While dermal fillers provide immediate volume by placing hyaluronic acid under the skin, Sculptra and Ellansé are collagen stimulators — they work more gradually by encouraging your own skin to rebuild structure over time. Sculptracontains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and is often used for general volume restoration in areas like the cheeks, temples or lower face. Ellansé, based on PDLLA, offers both a volumising effect and longer-lasting collagen stimulation. These treatments are ideal for patients seeking subtle, long-term improvement in firmness and facial contour, rather than instant filling.

Please note:The answers provided above are general guidelines.

Every treatment is discussed in full detail during your consultation, where I carefully assess your needs, medical history, and aesthetic goals.

My approach is always tailored, transparent, and patient-led — you will never be rushed or pressured into a decision.
